Guide | Installation of Aviagen Post Mortems

  1. Navigate to the INSTALLER
  2. Copy the installer and associated drivers to your machine
  3. Before starting the install ensure that the user account in question is in the following groups in Active Directory
    • GGPFarmSQL, GPFarmSQL, PedGrowSQL, PedLaySQL, PedRearSQL, PedSibSQL, TrialsFarmSQL
  4. Once this has been done, run "gpupdate /force" in cmd a few times, then restart the machine to ensure the new policies have been applied
  5. You should have the following file on your machine
  6. Firstly we need to install the “Aviagen Post mortems” application, to do this select the shortcut for the app installer and press enter
  7. The following window will appear, select “install”
  8. The next installation we need is the “Zebra Core Scanner” installer, your version may differ
  9. Right click and select run as admin
  10. It may ask you to install other software as bellow, install this as well
  11. If the installer asks you to reboot select “no”
  12. If you were asked to install additional software the installer may fail to restart, if so, go back to step 6 and continue from there
  13. The following window should now appear
  14. Run through the installer
  15. The next installation we need is “SQL Installer 1”
  16. Select it and right click, choosing “Open”
  17. You may see the following window, choose “Run without getting help”
  18. You should now see the installer, run through this
    • TAKE NOTE That the names of each installer are as they are in the attached screenshots
  19. The next installation we need is “SQL Installer 2”
  20. Select it and right click, choosing “Open”
  21. You should now see the installer, run through this
    1. TAKE NOTE That the names of each installer are as they are in the attached screenshots
  22. The next installation we need is “SQL Installer 3”
  23. Select it and right click, choosing “Open”
  24. You should see now see the installer, run through this
    • TAKE NOTE That the names of each installer are as they are in the attached screenshots
  25. Next we need to run Post Mortems as admin to create some startup files it requires, to do this open a command prompt AS AN ADMIN
    • Search “cmd” in windows search
    • Select the “Run as admin” option and enter our details
  26. Next we want to go to the “Aviagen Post Mortems” icon on the desktop, right click on it and choose “Copy as path” to your clipboard
  27. Now go back to you cmd window that was opened as an admin and paste the clipboard into it, it should look something like this
  28. Press enter
  29. It will open, you may see some errors such as the following, ignore these and press “No”
  30. Next go back to the desktop and open “Aviagen Post Mortems” like normal
  31. The program should open, this may take some time to actually open, give it up to 60 seconds
  32. If not, you may re try the process from step 1, making sure to uninstall everything you have already installed, this probably wont work
  33. Another option is to check here http://uk-dcd-prod/openwiki/ for any updated information
  34. A final option is to check this folder \\uk-dcd-prod\Publish\PostMortems for any new drivers or software which may not yet be included in this document
  35. If you have had no issues then congratulations, you have now installed the software
