Guide | Windows Mobile Device Manager Install on W10/11

  1. Navigate to the installer in vscan
  2. Copy the contents of the “Installer” and “Driver” folders to your machine
  3. You should now have the following files on your machine
  4. Firstly select the “Aviagen WMDC W11 Installer”, right click and click on “Run as admin”
  5. A window will appear asking for admin credentials, if you have these proceed, if you do not have these then please contact the helpdesk at [email protected]
  6. When running, this will install 2 programs, firstly the “Driver Update” and then the “Mobile Device Centre” Both windows will look like this
  7. Once completed wait for around a minute, this ensures that both items have been installed as there can sometimes be a delay.
  8. Next, select the “Aviagen WMDC W11 Fixer” installer and right click on it, click “open”
  9. This will ask you for admin credentials, enter them or contact the helpdesk for assistance as mentioned before
  10. The following window will appear
  11. DO NOT restart, instead select “No”
  12. Next, select the final driver you copied across, “Aviagen WMDC W11 Fixer P2”. Right click on it and select “Run as admin”
  13. This will ask you for admin credentials, enter them or contact the helpdesk for assistance as mentioned before
  14. This will show you the following screen
  15. Close this window
  16. From here you may restart your machine
  17. Once the machine has restarted, you may open the software, it should run with a normal double left click, if it does not open attempt to run it as admin.
  18. If it still will not open go back to step 8 and run through again.
  19. If the issues till persists uninstall both “Windows mobile device manager” and “Windows mobile device manager update” and “WMDCFixesWin10” and restart the process again
  20. Windows mobile device manager is an old application and this may take multiple attempts to install correctly on windows 11
