Guide | Install of Data Collector on Tablets

- Firstly navigate to \\uk-dcd-prod\publish\DataCollector_Click-Once_Installer and copy the entire folder to the target devices C drive, C://installers
- Now navigate to \\uk-dcd-prod\publish\DataCollector and copy the folders shown bellow into C://installers/Updated DLLs
- Now head to the Heimdal admin dashboard and search for the target device. Ensure that PAM Initial Install is the chosen GP, this will prevent admin rights being removed
- Now go to the target machine, navigate to compmgmt.msc and run it as domain admin.
- Add the targets machine's account that will be used to the admin group.
- Now save and close, restart the device.
- Once restarted and logged back in navigate to C:\\installers and navigate to the Install Data Collecot.bat file
- Right click, select run as admin
- A black box will appear, this will stay open untill the installer is finished.
- This install may fail, this is okay, ignore this we will try to fix this later
- Once this box closes we have some more steps to complete.
- The click once installer installs outdated DLL files, we must now re install these.
- Delete the following folders from the installers folder
- Now head to the updated DLLs folder we created earlier
- copy its contents out and into the installers folder
- For Office 11 version 9 you will need to go into the folder, here you will find a second folder with the same name, click into this, now you will see the install files, cut these and paste them one folder level up, into the first office 11 version 9 folder.
- You should now have the following 3 folders in the installers folder
- They should ALL look a little like this when opened.
- Now open them, in order from top to bottom, and run the "Install Office Gac.bat" file, running it as a local admin each time.
- Once all 3 have been installed navigate back the the installers folder
- Now find the following file
- Copy this onto the desktop, then double click to install.
- Say yes to any boxes that appear
- Data collector should open, showing you a screen asking you to select a farm, if this appears, congratulations, the install has been a success. we are however not done
- Ensure that you close data collector, now navigate to display settings and set the display size to 1280x768. Second selection mode on Data collector will crash without this being the rez.
- If instaid you recived an error or crash when double clicking on data collector you will have to try and troubleshoot this issue using the Wiki found here http://uk-dcd-prod/openwiki/ow.asp?HHT%5FKnowledge%5FBase
