Guide | SpecOps, How to Change/Reset your Password While Logged Into Your Machine

  • After you have completed first time setup/enrolment, you will be eligible to reset your password
  • If you currently know your password, then you can choose the “Change Password” option
  • If you do not currently know your password, you will instead have to choose the “Reset “Password” option
  • First, use windows search to find the “Change Password” or “Reset Password” option

  • You will be faced with a logins screen, use your username to login
  • You will then be asked to provide a method of authentication, this can be different depending on your unique setup.
    • Your current password
    • Physical Key
    • Google Authenticator
    • Mobile Code
    • Microsoft Authenticator
    • Manager Authentication

       
  • You will need to provide enough different methods to fill the star requirement, each method is worth a different amount of authentication stars
  • Only once you have filled this requirement will you be able to change your password
  • Once you have fulfilled this requirement you will see a password reset screen

  • Your new password will need to fulfil the requirements listed on the reset screen, once complete you can reset the password.
  • If you are connected to an Aviagen network at an Aviagen site, you will now have completed your password reset process and can now login with this new password.
  • If you are working remotely, you will need to make sure you follow the password refresh process.
    • First, ensure you are still logged in, then connect to the Cisco VPN, using your new password to login
    • Once connected, lock your machine, you will then need to enter your new password to log back into the machine
    • If this is successful, you have now refreshed your password and can proceed to use your new password going forward.
