SETUP AN ARCHIVE IN OUTLOOK
1 – From within Outlook, go to File > Tools > Clean Up Old Items…

2 – Choose the folders you would like to archive,
and the date of which you would like to archive from,
you can name the archive by amending the .pst file:
3 – Click OK and it will then show within your list of mailboxes:
You are able to drag and drop any items from your mailbox into this archive and they will be moved away from your mailbox and free up storage.
This can be items from your Inbox, Sent Items or any other folder. There is no limit on how much can be stored in your archives, providing there is enough space on your computer’s hard drive.
*Please be aware that anything stored in your archive will not be stored on the server and will therefore not be available when logging into webmail or via mobile devices. These items are stored on your computer’s hard drive and will not be backed up automatically. Please make a member of the helpdesk aware if you would like these to be backed up.
SETUP AUTO-ARCHIVING
1 – From within Outlook, go to File > Options and navigate to the Advanced tab, from there you will see the Auto-Archive Settings… button:

2 – From there, make sure the top tick box is selected and choose your parameters (Run schedule, age of items archived)

3 – Click the Browse button and you will see your archive file, choose this and click OK, then OK to complete auto-archiving:

The auto-archiving will then run as per your specifications.
