Understanding Quarantine Notifications

  • Mimecast may send you periodic emails listing quarantined messages.

  • These emails include links to:

    • Release

    • Permit

    • Block

Note: These actions can often be performed directly from the notification email without logging into the portal.

Important Notes

  • Not all blocked emails appear in quarantine: Some high-risk emails may be rejected before reaching your account.

  • Use caution when releasing emails: Only release emails you trust.

  • Links may expire: Quarantine emails are only stored for a limited time.

Best Practices

  • Regularly review your quarantine notifications

  • Only permit trusted senders

  • Report suspicious emails using the Mimecast Report Message button in Outlook
