Overview
Mimecast Managed Senders allows you to manage trusted and blocked email senders directly from Outlook. This helps ensure important emails are delivered to your inbox while reducing unwanted or suspicious messages.
What Are Managed Senders?
Managed Senders lets you:

Permit (allow) trusted senders so their emails are always delivered

Block unwanted senders to prevent future emails

Help Mimecast better filter your email based on your preferences
When to Use Managed Senders
Use this feature when:

A legitimate email is being blocked or going to spam

You want to ensure emails from a specific sender are always delivered
-
You want to stop receiving emails from a specific sender
How to Permit a Sender (Allow)

Open the Email
-
Go to the email from the sender you trust.

Access Mimecast Options

In Outlook, click the Mimecast tab.

Select Permit Sender

Click “Permit Sender” (or similar option).

Confirm
-
The sender will be added to your trusted list.

Result: Future emails from this sender will bypass spam filtering and be delivered to your inbox.
How to Block a Sender

Open the Email
-
Select the unwanted email.

Access Mimecast Options
-
Click the Mimecast tab in Outlook.

Select Block Sender
-
Click “Block Sender”.

Confirm
-
The sender will be added to your blocked list.

Result: Future emails from this sender will be rejected or sent to spam.
Managing Your Sender Lists
You can review or update your managed senders:

Open Outlook

Go to the Mimecast tab

Use caution when permitting senders: Only allow senders you fully trust.

Blocking is user-specific: Your blocked senders list does not affect other users.

Company policies still apply: Some emails may still be filtered based on organizational security rules.
